I teach Lithuanian as a foreign language.
Lessons focus on developing and improving speaking, understanding (listening and reading), writing skills as well as learning grammar and developing vocabulary. I teach vocabulary, which is relevant for the students and they can apply their knowledge in real-life situations right away.
Here are some strategies that I use:
Specific lessons - I make lessons as specific to each student as possible. I work on their weaknesses and stick to topics that are relevant to them.
Organic lessons - I have a plan with certain things that I want to cover, but I go into each lesson with an open mind and let the lesson take its own course and pace.
Repetition – I repeat things that we have learned in the past by using different conversations and exercises because only practice makes it perfect.
I have a bachelor's degree in Lithuanian philology and Croatian language, master's in Educational Science and currently I'm studying Applied Linguistics. I have been teaching Lithuanian as a foreign language since 2013. I teach groups (3-9 persons) as well as individually (1-2 persons).
If you are thinking about learning Lithuanian don't hesitate to contact me.
